About Broadway History Society
Broadway is a beautiful village on the southern tip of Worcestershire, often described as the quintessential Cotswold village with its honey coloured old stone houses stretching up the long, wide High Street to the Cotswold escarpment. Recent archaeological excavations show human habitation from the Bronze Age onwards, and more recent periods of prosperity have centred on the medieval wool trade, the coaching era and the advent of tourism, beginning with the Broadway colony of artists and continuing through the heyday of the Lygon Arms Hotel to the present day.
Broadway History Society puts on a series of fascinating history talks, one a month from September to May each year. Topics vary although most (but not all) have a local connection relating to Broadway, Worcestershire or the Cotswolds.
Please see the What’s On page to see this season’s events, follow us on Facebook and/or join our emailing list to be kept up to date.
Talks are held at the Lifford Memorial Hall, Broadway WR12 7BU. Doors open at 6.35pm, talks start at 7pm and usually finish at around 8pm. Just turn up on the night, no need to book.
